Venus

When Venus was found, she was in a bad shape. In the outskirts of Tehran, some lunatic targeted her and her siblings with his car, running them over many times. Venus lost all her siblings and she was lucky to be alive. A group of rescuers in the area found her and took her to the vet. Poor baby when she was in a box in the waiting room at the vet, she was looking at other dogs in the arms of their owners with such envy! Now she lives with a loving family and tons of fur-siblings of all kinds in Acton, Ontario.

Sometimes I feel like I was meant to be the one to adopt Venus. Venus was so terrified of every loud noise and big truck, she had resource guarding issues and I hand-fed her for almost two months. After a while she started to realize that the dogs in Canada were kind, and the people were too. With patience and communication, we can now cross people on the sidewalk in peace, her and her fur-brother Reed swap chews and lick each other’s dinner bowls clean, we can see dogs and she doesn’t plant her feet, trucks go by and she doesn’t flinch, and she knows what it’s like to be loved by so many. She even jumps for joy when she saw her paw-mates Pals. Venus has exceeded my wildest dreams and we have a connection like no other dog I have ever had before. Venus is the planet of love and she’s brought so much of it into my life. She has the gentlest soul and I am so lucky to call her mine.
