Hero
Hero was rescued as a very tinny puppy by a rescuer in the hills of northern Tehran. Somehow he was separated from his mother and the rescuer found him with another female dog that had a litter of older puppies who were no longer nursing, so he was not being fed. The rescuer raised Hero until he became a huge dog but being that Iran is not a friendly place for dogs, her rescuer reached out to Woofy Wishes to get him out of Iran. This poor baby didn't even have peace when his rescuer/foster mom would take him for a walk in Tehran. People's reaction towards him was very negative and at times adversarial, which several times resulted in him running to his rescuer and hiding behind her. It was not easy to arrange his travel because of his size and weight. We had many challenges from finding a suitable crate, airlines restrictions and etc. But we knew we had to make Hero's woofy wishes come true and didn't give up. We waited a good while to finally find a passenger volunteer with the suitable itinerary who can take Hero out of Iran. Hero is now in Hamilton, ON Canada living with his best life with the best parents.
“Hero (now Moose) is doing so great and he settled in with our 2 cats in no time! We have completed level one training classes. He picked everything up so quickly! He has such a wonderful goofy personality, such a smart boy (and a big cuddle bug too!!) We went camping a lot this summer which he really enjoyed! He gets along great with all of our friends dogs and the people he meets. We are very overjoyed that he has come into our lives!”
